Layze (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy and complies with the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (PDPO) (Cap. 486). This policy details how we handle personal data when you use layze.co, our app, or services for decorating, furniture selection, ordering, and related home enhancements. It aligns with PDPO's six Data Protection Principles (DPPs): purpose/manner of collection, accuracy/retention, use limitation, security, openness, and access/correction rights. Non-agreement means no service use.

1. Personal Data We Collect (DPP1)

We gather only necessary data for lawful purposes tied to our decorating and furniture platform and services.

  • From you: Name, email, phone, delivery address, payment info, preferences (e.g., style, furniture specs, room dimensions) via forms, app, or inquiries. Voluntary but essential for orders; refusal blocks service.
  • Automatically: IP address, device/browser data, usage patterns via cookies/analytics.
  • Third parties: From partners (e.g., suppliers) only with consent.

Collection is fair; we notify you of purposes, recipients, and rights upfront. No sensitive data without explicit need/consent.

2. How We Use Your Data (DPP3)

Uses are limited to stated or directly related purposes:

  • Process orders, select/deliver furniture, provide decorating advice.
  • Manage accounts, payments, communications (e.g., order updates).
  • Analyze trends to enhance services (anonymized where feasible).
  • Marketing (e.g., new furniture deals) only with opt-in consent; opt-out anytime.
  • Legal compliance (e.g., records).

New uses require fresh consent; silence ≠ consent.

3. Disclosure (DPP1 & DPP3)

No data sales. Shared only with:

  • Vendors (e.g., furniture suppliers, shippers, payment processors) under PDPO-binding contracts.
  • Authorities if legally required.
  • In business sales/mergers (with notice).

Transferees know purposes and your rights.

4. Retention & Accuracy (DPP2)

Data stays accurate and is retained no longer than needed (e.g., 2 years post-delivery or per law). Securely erased afterward; request corrections anytime.

5. Security (DPP4)

Practicable safeguards include encryption, controls, firewalls, training. Processors match standards contractually. Breaches trigger notifications to you/PCPD.

  • Object/withdraw consent; opt-out marketing/cookies.
